Customs and import: what happens to your shipment
We ship inside the European Union only. That makes the customs question simpler than importing from outside the Union — but not irrelevant.
Inside the EU: no import declaration for Union goods
Shipments between EU member states are intra-community: there is no import declaration and no import duty. A parcel from Leiden to Berlin or Antwerp goes through no customs procedure.
What does still apply are the national rules of the destination country. See legality per country for the framework in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium.
Why we do not ship outside the EU
Importing from outside the Union adds an import declaration, a commodity code and possibly import duty — plus country-by-country rules on importing laboratory chemicals.
That moves the risk to the buyer: a shipment stuck at customs is not something a tracking code solves. So we deliberately keep the shipping area inside the EU. The countries and rates are in the shipping policy.
What travels with the shipment
Every shipment goes out neutrally packaged and with track & trace, and the lot number on the label points to the matching certificate of analysis.
That makes the contents traceable without the outside giving anything away. Check a lot via verify a lot number; the thresholds are on quality standards.

Do I have to pay import duty?
No. We ship inside the EU only, and between member states there is no import declaration and no import duty. You pay what you see at checkout.
Can my shipment be checked by customs?
Inside the EU there is no customs procedure for Union goods, so a routine customs check does not arise. National enforcement in the destination country does remain possible; what applies there is on that country's legality page.
